HP announced that it will contribute webOS to the open source community. The next best thing for HP and a much better fate for webOS.

Will we see new webOS hardwares from other manufacturers? I certainly hope so. HP and open source community must improve webOS architecture

Apple Lossless Audio Codec is now Open Source Project as reported by many. It is available under Apache license.

At first I thought:

Apple Free LossLess Audio Codec (AFLAC)
Wait a minute, it sounds just like Aflac.

There is also FLAC Project.

The news of possible end to VLC development for Mac OS X caused quite a stir today. Based the Forums post, at this point there are no active VLC developers for Mac OS X.

VLC is a multimedia player with supports for many audio and video format. It is also a required component for Handbrake feature to work.

Developers who can donate their time are desperately needed to keep this project going.
