Magic Trackpad is now available at Apple Retail Store. July 30, 2010

I stopped by an Apple Retail Store on Thursday and I saw Magic Trackpad available for demo and sale.

Naturally I picked up one, just to see if Apple can make a truly usable input device. Apple has not been able to create widely adapted mouse and trackpad products in the computer industry for the past 15 years. For sure the single button mouse is still the running joke about Mac computers.

I’m down $75.04 for the Magic Trackpad. Well, it’s a little price to pay for what many call as research.

So after 2 hours using this, I can say that it works exactly as unibody MacBook Pro trackpads. I personally have no problem using it, but personal experiences may vary.

If you’re used to using the Unibody MacBook Pro, you will have no problem using the Magic Trackpad. It is a much bigger trackpad than any MacBook Pros have.

I found out I can use it with another mouse for a more ambidextrous work-flow.

Magic Trackpad requires Bluetooth-enabled Mac running Mac OS X 10.6.4 or higher for all features.

Apple releases Safari 5.0.1 with Extensions update. July 28, 2010

Apple has just released Safari 5.0.1 for Mac OS X and Windows. It is available through Apple Software Update and http://www.apple.com/safari/.

New in this update:
Safari Extensions
Customize Safari with features created by third-party developers
Find extensions in the Safari Extensions Gallery, accessible from the Safari menu and extensions.apple.com

Safari 5.0.1 in Mac OS X requires system restart.

Report: RENO 911! presents RENO 911: A XXX Parody July 27, 2010

RENO 911! cast sans Wendi and Mary are here. Wendi McClendon-Covey is working on a movie and Mary Birdsong is working on a Broadway Show.

Some cast and crew of RENO 911: A XXX Parody are also in the audience.

The RENO 911! cast making colorful commentaries to the parody of their show during the showing of the XXX Parody sans the nudity and sex. Well, they are “disecting” the acting and the set.

There were some Q&A sessions and RENO 911! props giveaway. Niecy had to leave early because she had a shooting schedule in early morning. Audience members walked home with free copies of the parody DVD.

After the show I talked to Cedric and Carlos while the rest of the cast either gone or busy talking to other people. The last time I saw both of them was back in May at Carlos’ wedding. We are making plan to bring you more updates really soon.

UCB – RENO 911! presents RENO 911: A XXX Parody July 25, 2010

I’m going to visit RENO 911! cast at Upright Citizen Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles. RENO 911! main cast minus Wendy McClendon-Covey and Mary Birdsong plus Nick Swardson will be there discussing the parody of their show RENO 911: A XXX Parody.

If you haven’t reserved any tickets, then you would have to go to the box-office on Monday July 26th, before the show.  The show starts at Midnight. Yes, it will be technically on Tuesday.

The real cast of Reno 911 comes together to explore/celebrate/examine the newly released Reno 911: A XXX Parody. And it’s all for charity!

This will be the second appearance of Carlos Alazraqui with the rest of RENO 911! Season 6 cast after the “death” of James Oswaldo Garcia as revealed in Season 6 premiere episode. Back in January 2010, the whole RENO 911! main cast members sans Wendi McClend0n-Covey were on stage together. In May 2005 Carlos Alazraqui was reunited with Cedric Yarbrough, Wendy McClendon-Covey, Mary Birdsong and Jill-Michele Meleán at his wedding day. Yes ladies, Carlos is officially off the market.

Editing note:
I first said that this would be the first time Carlos Alazraqui appeared together with the rest RENO 911! cast members, but in fact they did make an appearance together back in January 2010 in San Francisco.
