Appropriately, Apple renames iPhone OS 4 to iOS 4 since it is also available for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

GDGT points out that Cisco owns the trademark “IOS” (originally Internet Operating System). It is the “iPhone” trademark all over again.

UPDATE: Cisco confirms that Apple licenses the trademark for IOS.

Speaking of which, iOS4 Golden Master will be made available to iPhone Developers today.
