The Paranoids and Opportunists: Apple Location History Debacle.

Posted in Apple, iPad, iPhone, News, Rants, Security, Tech at 2:44 pm by 37prime

If you are a paranoid, you should immediately abandon anything you have made by Apple. Throwaway your iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro, Magic Mouse, Apple Keyboard, etc.

Since you’ve just read it on the Internet, then everything you could fear must be true. Someone just reposted the content from someone else’s site on a blog.

If you are an opportunist, this is the perfect time to bash Apple. How dare Apple become a popular brand? I use [insert a branded product here] and it is a million times better than Apple ever made.

If you are another type of an opprtunist, you should file lawsuit against Apple right now. You don’t need to have all the facts as long as you’re making headlines.

If you are a paranoid and an opprtunist, you definitely should stand on a soap box. After doing so, get yourself any attorney who would file lawsuit against Apple. You don’t need to know the fact because once you do you might not be able to sue.

Please do panic and abandon Apple.

Posted in Apple, iPad, iPhone, iPod, Media, News, Rants, Resources, Security, Tech, Troubleshooting at 3:20 pm by 37prime

Since everyone on the Internet is saying that Apple is definitely tracking your iOS movement, then it must be true. To make matter worse, Senator Al Franken (D-MN) and Representative Ed Markey (D-MA) have sent queries to Steve Jobs about this issue. Adding insults to the injuries, thousands if not infinite numbers of bloggers are busy wearing out their “C” and “V” keys reposting the story over and over again. Apple must be the bad guy, right?

What are you waiting for, its time to abandon Apple. Throw away your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Buy only Android/Windows Phone 7/webOS/Blackberry/etc. that is non Apple devices. Please do panic now.

In related news, Google captured your password while taking pictures of your house. Please do panic!

Please do panic!

I need to take classes in sarcasm.

Seriously? Facebook is making phone?

Posted in Announcements, Media, News, Resources, Security, Tech at 10:57 am by 37prime

So the rumor has it that Facebook is making a phone of their own. I’m pretty sure the FaceBook phone or “FacePhone” will have the following features:

  • It will automatically checks you in to places whether you want to or not.
  • It will add a post on FaceBook every time you placed or received a call.
  • It will post all the pictures you took with the phone to your Facebook page.
  • It will display ads whenever you nearby a spot.
  • It will share the content of your address book to Facebook Partners.
  • You can only store phone numbers of people with Facebook profile.
  • The GPS is tracking you at all times.

There are a lot more, I just need to do something else now.

Still Got The Rootkit Blues.

Posted in Announcements, Applications, Apps, Media, Microsoft, News, Resources, Security, Tech, Troubleshooting, Windows at 3:10 am by very

From time to time I’d get a call from acquaintances regarding their computers. Usually it’s about the viruses, trojans, worms, spywares, etc.

Well, this time it’s a Rootkit!

I know that the most effective way is to wipe the hard-drive clean and fresh-install Windows. I opted to clean the system to see what kinda damges done on this computer. Thanks to ComboFix author!

I’m going to fresh-install Windows later.

Hey it’s an open Wi-Fi! Wait a second, this can’t be good.

Would you connect to this open Wi-Fi?

Who knows what’s running within that network. Maybe a computer is capturing all the packets thus stealing your password.

Windows 7: Troubleshooting System Crashes.

Posted in Announcements, Apple, Applications, Apps, Leopard, Mac OS X, MacBook, Media, Microsoft, News, Resources, Security, Tech, Troubleshooting, Vista, Windows at 12:21 am by 37prime

I installed Windows 7 Enterprise Edition RTM on my 15-inch MacBook Pro Core Duo. Everything seems to be working well initially. Most device drivers were installed by Windows 7. Boot Camp Windows Support took care of the rest of the drivers including the trackpad, iSight and keyboard drivers.

For some reasons after a few reboots, iSight driver kept crashing. At this point Apple has not officially supported Windows 7 yet.

As expected, Windows 7 prompted me to install some anti-malware software and I opted to install Microsoft Security Essentials Beta. Shortly after Windows 7 started crashing. I tried to roll back Windows 7 using System Restore, but unfortunately it failed. I tried uninstalling Microsoft Security Essentials Beta but it wouldn’t run under Safe Mode. Windows 7 always crashes unless it is in Safe Mode.

I am going re-format and install the system all over again.
