According to an Apple employee, the next iPad is not what people expect it to be. While providing no specific information, this Apple employee laughed when “Retina Display iPad” was mentioned. The last words were: “You don’t want to wait for the iPad 3 you’ve been hearing about.”
It is pretty apparent that this Apple employee just debunked a lot of the rumors on iPad 3. Let’s all not hold our breath for the “Retina Display iPad” for now. Even if the next iPad would have 2048-by-1536 resolution, it would only be at 264 pixels per inch. It would be a “Retina Display iPad” if the screen size would be a bit smaller, let’s say something like an 8.5-inch screen.
Then again, this “iPad 3″ might be dubbed as a 2011 Tech Flop by Taylor Hatmaker, because it doesn’t have 3D display and cannot be used as a hat.

Yahoo! Small Business Hosting now supports MySQL 5.1.55 and PHP 5.3.6. This is good news for those using Yahoo! Small Business Hosting to host their WordPress.org installation; it is now compatible with WordPress 3.2 or higher. This also means you can take advantage of WordPress JetPack plugins.
If you are running WordPress on Yahoo! Small Business Hosting, you should upgrade to MySQL 5.1.55, PHP 5.3.6 and WordPress 3.2.1 as soon as possible.

Back in the Eighties there were Metallica and Megadeth. The two bands were perceived to be competing with each other. Dave Mustaine, the founder of Megadeth was a former Metallica member who also wrote majority of “Kill ‘Em All”. After being kicked out of Metallica, Mustaine formed Megadeth as a competing band. Megadeth’s first record “Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good” sounds nothing like “Kill ‘Em All”.
Samsung might be wanting everyone to think that they are competing with Apple. Unfortunately in the eye of many, Samsung does copy Apple.

Just like Michael Moore on the Republican. Just like Rush Limbaugh on the Democrats. Just Like Glen Beck on the Liberals. That’s what Ed Bott on Apple. Take what Bott says with a boulder of salt.

WordPress 3.1.2 was out on Tuesday April 26th, 2011. If you are running your own WordPress installation, you should upgrade right away.
If I remembered it correctly starting with WordPress 3.2 requires PHP5 and mySQL 5.

Since everyone on the Internet is saying that Apple is definitely tracking your iOS movement, then it must be true. To make matter worse, Senator Al Franken (D-MN) and Representative Ed Markey (D-MA) have sent queries to Steve Jobs about this issue. Adding insults to the injuries, thousands if not infinite numbers of bloggers are busy wearing out their “C” and “V” keys reposting the story over and over again. Apple must be the bad guy, right?
What are you waiting for, its time to abandon Apple. Throw away your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Buy only Android/Windows Phone 7/webOS/Blackberry/etc. that is non Apple devices. Please do panic now.
In related news, Google captured your password while taking pictures of your house. Please do panic!
Please do panic!
I need to take classes in sarcasm.

Look it’s a gun, let’s jump it.
“Oh Your God! Samsung is shipping key-loggers in their computers.”
“Apple did what? They are tracking your movement with their iOS devices. Shame on you Apple!”
“LOL at Apple, you copied Samsung!”
It’s time to tell everyone by copying and pasting the “breaking” news into the blog.
Can anyone else come up with something better?

So Apple is suing Samsung alleging that Samsung is copying Apple’s iOS devices. As usual, there are a lot of “internet people” cursing at Apple.
Apple this, Apple that!
I wonder if it is cool to hate Apple, again.
Has anyone forgot that Microsoft is asserting that Linux is infringing on their patents? Sure, it was way back in 2007. Microsoft is now gunning for a linux-based mobile OS known as Android. That’s a much bigger problem. Then again, right now it is not cool to hate Microsoft.

CES is still going on today and I’m somewhat bored already. Why?
- There are not enough dancing from the press events and the keynotes.
- There are not enough the same thing that we might or might not see this year.
- There are not enough the “We might build this in mass quantity and actually sell it some day” products.
- There are not enough of the 3D displays that still far from being good.
- There are not enough tablet computing devices.
I’m optimistic that better product will emerge after CES 2011 ended. Afterall, we still have 51 weeks for new exciting products that people can actually get.

Many news outlet reported (e.g. 1 and 2) that Microsoft claimed that they shipped 1.5 million Windows Phone 7 devices in its first 6 weeks.
For those who are fans of Microsoft’s:
“That’s amazing. It took Apple 74 days to sell 1 million iPhones. Forget about the first official Android phone. Suck on that Apple!”
For those who are critics of Microsoft’s:
“Apple sold 1.7 million iPhone 4 in its first three days. Google activates around 300,000 Android phones each day recently. What’s the big deal?”
If you are not Paul Thurrott, then you would point out:
From Microsoft’s own story:
Another is phone manufacturer sales – phones being bought and stocked by mobile operators and retailers on their way to customers. We are pleased that phone manufacturers sold over 1.5 million phones in the first six weeks, which helps build customer momentum and retail presence.
What does that mean? It means Microsoft has 1.5 million of Windows Phone 7 devices (saying “Windows Phone 7 phone” is really awkward) on consignment. They are not necessarily sold to end users yet.
Definitions of “Consignment” from:
I would buy an unlocked Windows Phone 7 phone as long as it does not cost as much as the original iPhone and Nexus One. Did I mentioned that I bought the original iPhone and Nexus One unlocked? I would also buy an unlocked Palm Pre 2 if I don’t have to pay full price. I am refraining myself from buying Nexus S for now until an AT&T version is released.
