I was cleaning up a virus-infested Windows XP and found out how one of the viruses attempted infecting my USB drive.

Just watch out for some Registry entry for “resycled/boot.com”

Don’t forget to clean the computer up in safe mode, kill the explorer.exe and lunch Registry Editor.

I’m troubleshooting the installation of HighPoint RocketRaid 2314 on an 8-core Mac Pro. Originally it wouldn’t recognized any eSATA drives connected to it. I downloaded the latest driver and utility from hptmac.com and it now works. I connected a G-Speed eS (Amazon | G-Tech) to the Mac Pro through eSATA. Well, the eSATA card comes with the G-Speed eS.

I called HP for technical support/warranty service; unfortunately their support hours ended @ 5PM Pacific Time.

I’m going to call them back Tuesday morning.
